![]() MEMBERSHIP Membership in the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi shall be open to any full-time employee of a Mississippi private college, university, or junior college who is employed as a member of the institution's public relations or public information staff, and public information or public relations personnel of state governmental educational agencies. Associate membership in the Association may be held by any student of a Mississippi private college, university, or junior college who is majoring in public relations, journalism, broadcasting, communications, or advertising, and by public relations or public information personnel of high schools. Associate members shall have no power of voting in the Association. The term "Public Relations" in our name does not exclude marketing, communications, photography, graphic design, web, alumni and other related professionals within our institutions. We appreciate and learn from the diversity of our membership. CPRAM members get together once a year at our annual conference, where we learn from professional speakers and workshop sessions, take part in an awards competition, and have fun just networking with each other. Our membership is small enough so that we really get to know each other and develop lasting personal and professional relationships. In addition to the annual conference, CPRAM is also in the process of developing some regional professional development sessions. Please let us know if you would be interested in hosting a session or in teaching a session. As a service to our member institutions, CPRAM also posts JOB OPENINGS related to our profession on the web site from member institutions. FEES Each institution only has to pay one annual $25 membership fee. Each $25 membership fee allows a maximum of 3 entries to be submitted in the awards competition. So, if multiple departments within an institution want to submit 3 entries each, then each of those departments should also submit a $25 membership fee. We would appreciate it if, along with the membership fee, each institution or department would also submit a list of their individual CPRAM members, their titles, and contact information to help keep our contact list updated. The conference fee is $25 per individual member attending, and awards entry fees are only $10 (early deadline) and $15 (final deadline) for each entry. So you see, CPRAM membership is very affordable. We believe CPRAM membership will afford you the opportunity to enjoy
networking with others in your profession, share new ideas, and help
advance higher education (and the image of higher education) in our state. |
